'Macho Man' Randy Savage, with help from Miss Elizabeth, tops the rankings for 1988 in both the combined individual and the mens singles categories. He was also 3rd in the mens tag team rankings, along with his Mega Powers teammate Hulk Hogan.
He received a huge 110 points (combined and singles) for his Wrestlemania IV tournament win, 11.25 points (combined) for his Summerslam main event with as part of the Mega Powers and 22.5 points (combined and singles) for surviving the main event of Survivor Series, again with Hulk Hogan. 

This impressive year by Savage also put him top of the 1985-88 ongoing rankings, removing Hogan from top spot. He has 187.08 points in the combined rankings and 175.83 in the mens singles rankings.

The Ultimate Warrior burst onto the PPV scene in 1988, beating Hercules at Wrestlemania IV (20 points combined and singles). He won the Intercontinental Championship by beating The Honky Tonk Man at Summerslam (23.5 points combined and singles). He was then the sole survivor of his team at Survivor Series earning him 19 points in both the combined and mens singles rankings.

62.5 points sees him 2nd in the 1988 combined individual and mens singles rankings. It also put him 5 in the 1985-88 rankings for the same categories.

Demolition top the 1988 mens tag team rankings.
The won the titles in a match against Strike Force at Wrestlemania IV, this earned them 30 points. They then defended their belts against The Hart Foundation at Summerslam (23.5 points). They walked out of their Survivor Series match after an argument with their manager Mr Fuji, changing from heels to face. The ended up 3rd in the match earning them 8 points. They scored 61.5 points in 1988 which also put them top of the 1985-88 tag team rankings.

George 'The Animal' Steele is bottom of the combined individual and the mens single rankings for 1985-88. 
This was not helped with his refusal to enter the Battle Royal at Wrestlemania IV, losing him 18 points. Along with his -5 points for losing the Randy Savage in 1987 at Wrestlemania III, he now has -23 points.
